Chaminade Resort & Spa has regained its former Spanish revivalist glory after a $ 10 million renovation. Located on a 300-acre campus above Monterey Bay and Santa Cruz, the 1930s property upgraded its 156 rooms during the first phase of the renovation; they now have new bathrooms, new furniture and a fresh color scheme. Located in 11 villas spread around the property for privacy, many rooms have balconies and patios, and guests have easy access to the three-mile redwood walking trail, tennis courts, at the golf course and at the outdoor swimming pool.

The second phase of the renovation focused on public spaces and the more than 12,000 square feet of meeting and event space. There is a new 2,800 square foot Seascape Ballroom on the ground floor with access to a courtyard, an event patio with a fireplace and a view of Monterey Bay. Chaminade has nine other meeting rooms and a new signature restaurant, The View, with a large fireplace and alfresco dining terrace. There is also an event lawn with fire pits for evening receptions.

The hotel’s new lobby is flooded with natural light from a vaulted glass ceiling, while a grand staircase features Spanish tiles and wooden beams.

Chaminade Resort & Spa is 54 km south of Norman Y. Mineta International Airport in San Jose and 100 km south of San Francisco International Airport.
