Los Angeles VSCounty officials are looking for suspects responsible for an “ambush” shooting that left four dead and one injured at a house party early Sunday.
Authorities responded to the shooting at 1:38 a.m. Sunday at an unregulated short-term rental home in Inglewood, where a group had gathered for a birthday party Saturday night, according to a news release. The shooting involved multiple weapons, including a rifle and a handgun.
“This is the highest number of gunshot victims that have been injured in this city since the 1990s,” Mayor James Butts Jr. said. told reporters on Sunday.
The group had come together to celebrate Breahna Stines’ 21st birthday. Stines, along with her 25-year-old sister, Marneysha Hamilton, were among those killed in the shooting. The other two victims have not been identified, with police only describing them as male friends of the sisters.

“These are sociopathic killers who need to be separated from society,” Butts said. ” Appointment. We will find you and we will pursue you.
Family and friends gathered near the scene of the shooting to create a memorial for the victims, with a display of birthday balloons, candles and photos of the two sisters.

Police have not determined the motive for the shooting, although police believe it may be gang-related, as the surviving victim told officials he was affiliated with a gang from another city, according to a press release. Officials said he had a long criminal history.
Butts later said the attack “wasn’t random and had to do with the people who were supposed to be at the party,” according to the Los Angeles Times.
Inglewood police said they believe multiple suspects were involved and are asking the public to submit a tip along with any information.
